WOW! April is half over already....

The month has flown by. Sarah is studing hard for her Bat Mitzvah. Baseball season is in full swing between Sarah's games and Steve umpiring, there is something baseball related going on here almost daily. Ryan has been enjoying track at school & his new XBOX. He also did a great job on his personal project (the lasagna dinner) at school.... 89%.
My 43rd birthday was on the 5th. Steve gave me a gift certificate to the spa & the kids gave me a Brighton charm holder for my purse. I love both gifts, thank you guys, I love you! My girlfriends took me out to lunch, made me dinner & took me out to dinner, all with special gifts too. I have to say being in my 40's isn't so bad. I have a great family & wonderful friends!
Sarah's Bat Mitzvah is only 3 weeks away & we are busy organizing all the fun stuff that goes along with having the big celebration. I know everything will be just great! The best part is having all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us!
Gotta run! Sarah is doing her first Torah run through with the Rabbi after services tonight :)

See, I am married to an umpire

Here's a picture of us right after Steve got home from calling a game last night.

Ryan cooks dinner Sunday night, YUM!

For Ryan's personal project at school he had to plan and prepair an entire meal on his own. Pick the menu, make the budget, grocery shop & prepare the meal. He did an awesome lasagna dinner! We took it to friends for dinner. Here he is just before we ate! WAY TO GO RYAN! It was delicious!

Sarah gets honors in PE

Sarah got her purple shirt this week. And is now a teachers aide during PE class. To earn this you must have 115 points, well over an A. You earn extra points by helping the teacher and other students during class & with extra PE credit at home. WOOHOO! Congrats Sarah, we are so proud of you!

Kids can make a difference

This quilt was made for a friend of mine :) Her daughters class did all the artwork & I did the sewing & quilting. It will be a part of her schools spring auction. I hope it raises lots of $$ for her school.

Oh, some days are just so fun!

This morning my newspaper the "Contra Costa Times" was yet again under my car, as it is 360 days a year. Only today, I couldn't reach it because it was dead center under the engine. That delivery person has great aim, I must say. So, annoyed by this perfect delivery, I got the keys to my car to move it out of the way. And in my annoyed state at 5:45AM, I moved the car in the wrong direction...... as you can see above. Fortunately, I did manage to hit the garage door dead center so as to avoid any damage to the house and just smashed the crap out of the garage door itself. Yes there is paint on my car bumper but no real other damage. Here are some lovely photos of my misshap for eveyone to enjoy :)

I sincerely hope you have all had as much fun laughing at me while reading this as I have had posting it. :)

Baseball season has begun!

It's February & that means baseball season gets under way. Sarah has a new team & practices begin mid month. Steve has already been to one umpire clinic and next weekend will be at another both Sat & Sun. . He is also umpiring his first game on the 14th, Valentine's day. I see a new purse in my future......... :) WooHoo!
I see lots of quilting time in my future too.... all that weekend time to fill. That is between shuttling Sarah to practices and games, lol! Basketball is quite finished yet either. Time flies by when your having fun!

Busy weekend

Time flies by when your busy busy. Saturday morning Sarah had a friends Bar Mitzvah to attened, Steve went too. I cleaned house while they were at services. A friend came over in the afternoon for lunch and to work on a quilt project. Later in the evening Steve & I had sushi dinner while Sarah attended the BM party and Ryan hung out with grandma.
Sunday flew by too.... laundry, Sunday school, Sarah's basketball game, a visit with Doris & dinner.
Today Sarah headed back to school but Ryan still has another week home. I'm sure it will fly by too.
Also, this week we are moving Doris to the higher level of care at Sunrise where she lives. She needs more assistance & care as her Alzheimers continues to progress....it's so hard to watch her fade away.
